Why Do Some Instagram Accounts Grow Fast While Others Stay Stuck?

Hey everyone,

I've been analyzing different Instagram accounts in my niche lately, and something just doesn't add up to me.

You'll see two accounts with similar content quality—sometimes even the smaller one has better posts—but one grows quickly while the other barely moves. It makes me wonder what's really happening behind the scenes.

I've been consistent with posting, engaging, and trying to understand the algorithm, but growth still feels inconsistent. That's when I started thinking about factors like early engagement and social proof. While researching, I came across services like buy instagram followers, which seem to be something people quietly experiment with.

I'm not saying that's the reason some accounts grow faster, but it does make me curious about how much initial momentum matters. Does getting that early boost help trigger more organic reach? Or is it mostly irrelevant in the long run?

Also wondering:

Do you think consistency alone is enough, or is timing/luck a bigger factor?

Have you noticed certain types of posts that suddenly break through?

Is there a point where growth just "clicks," or is it always gradual?

Would really appreciate hearing different perspectives on this. Trying to understand the bigger picture here.

Thanks!
