Anyone dealt with airbag recall work outside the dealership?

So my 2014 Nissan Patrol has an open recall for the passenger airbag inflator, but the dealer is booking appointments three months out and I'm a bit nervous driving around knowing it could be a problem. Has anyone here gotten airbag work done at a non dealer shop and felt safe about it? I don't want to cut corners on something this important, but waiting three months feels ridiculous too.
